…and You're a monkey!

those crazy kids

Pretty Princess

I wanted to take some time to write about each of the kids individually.  They are all so great and all so different.

Sharon is one of the most precious parts of my life.  She has such a sweet spirit.  She loves animals of all kinds and insists that she is going to be an animal doctor and work for the ASPCA.  She wants to rescue animals and put bad guys in jail.

Sharon is thoughtful, some say shy, but I don’t want that label on her.  She isn’t shy so much as she is cautious.  She wants to know all the players before she joins the game.  Once she knows what all the roles are she gets in there and tears ’em up.

She can also be quite a handful.  There is no doubt that she is a true daddy’s girl.  I am just lucky that Poppa is not to big of a sucker.

Fair play

Harry:  Momma, Momma, Momma, let’s play rock paper scissors.

Me: OK

Harry: You be paper and I be scissors. 1. 2. 3. I win, you lose.

Raising them self assured.

This morning I noticed a bruise on Harry’s arm that looked a bit like a bite.  I wasn’t really sure that is what is was so I asked.  This is how the convo went (note: names have been changed to protect the innocent)

Me:  Did one of your friends bite you?

Harry: No, it’s just a bruise.

Me: I know but how did you get the bruise?  Do you have a friend at school that bites?

Harry: Nancy is my girlfriend (Nancy is a known biter)

Me: Did Nancy bite you?

Harry: No, she doesn’t bite me.  She is my girlfriend.  She thinks I am hot.

Me: ***chuckle, chuckle***

Harry: Well…I AM HOT!!!

Back to reality

Well, classes started yesterday.  I think I am really going to enjoy this semester, and not just because it is my last.

My favorite kid quote of the last week:

Me: Harry, leave your sister alone and sit back.

Harry:  You wanna get a piece of me?
